Winter Wonderland?

I'm so glad it is a Sunday.  When I looked out the window at church it started to snow.  I whispered to Abby, "If we were in school I would have to pull all the shades down so the kids would listen to me."  But seriously, I am shocked that we received this much snow!  Last I heard we were getting a dusting, to be followed by rain to wash all the snow away.  I know it is a pain to shovel and drive in, but it truly looks beautiful when it coats the trees and blankets the lawn.  Hopefully by tomorrow they will have the roads scraped and the parking lot ready for us............we have a full week of school, with a holiday concert too! We will begin creating our special holiday presents.......just wait until you see what we can do!

You may have heard me scream yesterday from Room 101 along with some of our classmates.  We received mail, and unlike at home, it wasn't bills to pay or junk mail advertising the newest sale!  Some of our peers got a letter and free coupon from McDonalds.  Back in September we wrote  friendly letters to different companies and people expressing our feelings.  Well, today four students received letters back, it is just so exciting!  I wonder who will be running to McDonalds first to redeem their free sandwich.  :)  The students have also been blogging on the class website for Wonders.  I am truly seeing a new side of them and enjoying reading their thoughts.  I look forward to winding down every evening blogging with my awesome 4th graders!

Fall Weekend........
The leaves have changed and are beginning to fall, it's time to grab a rake and get raking. This by far, is my favorite time of year.  The air is crisp and I need a jacket for my morning dog walk.
Our first marking period is almost over and conferences are right around the corner.  I'm looking forward to talking with each of you about your child and the plans I have for them for the next three marking periods.
As I stated on Back To School Night, I'm not great at blogging so I need to change that!  Right now I am sitting with my teacher friends and Mrs. Lizzi is helping me update my blog  while Mrs. Gallinaro is singing a song about adding to one of the Taylor Swift tunes.  I'm going to spend the next four days working on our new literacy program........I WONDER how it will work out??

New Year's Resolution

Okay, I did not do a good job keeping up with my blog.  However, I have been keeping up with emails, so I'm not a total helpless techie. Last night my daughter won a science fact book at the New Year's Eve party and my friend, Lisa, suggested I should "tweet" a fact a day.  Okay, I have no idea how to "tweet", so I may list that under my resolution list.  Nevertheless, I thought about this blog, and how I haven't kept it up..........so here's my next post.

It is 2013, and all the students will be heading back to school tomorrow, hopefully with their TEAM WHES shirts on.  I am excited about getting started in the New Year, it's like September again, except we all are use to each other so we don't have those "nervous jitters".

In LAL, we need to finish our book this week.  Then I will be going over the new book report, which will be on the book we just spent the last month reading.  In science, we will start our new unit on Electricity and Magnetism.  The students love this unit since it's hands on!  In math, we will be continuing with decimals and taking it up a notch to the thousandths place.

It sounds like a busy month, let's hope that we spend all our days in school and the snow doesn't come!
